Glenn Day

Glenn Wilson Day was born on September 19, 1955, in Lake Jackson, Texas. He passed away on September 6, 2018, after a battle with COPD and Cirrhosis of the liver. He was 62 years old.

Glenn grew up in Marshall, Texas. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1974. He played baseball and golf, which he enjoyed and played the rest of his life. He attended Kilgore College and graduated from East Texas State University, Commerce, Texas, in 1978 with a BS degree in business. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. Glenn worked for JC Penney, Stoudt Distributing Company, Coors of Longview, and GG Distributing Company. He married his college sweetheart, Lynan Williams, on May 26, 1979. They made their home in Longview where they raised two children. The joy of his life was his one‑year‑old granddaughter, Mabry Maree.

Glenn was a long‑time member of Greggton United Methodist Church. He loved to play and watch golf. He was a football and softball official for 24 years.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Janet and Jimmy Day . He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lynan, son Benjamin Day of Little Elm, daughter and son‑in‑law Jennifer and Jared Monk of Flint, granddaughter Mabry Monk of Flint, brothers Gary Day of Longview, Bryan Day and wife Debbie of Allen, Robert Day and niece Payton of Kilgore, nephews Garrett Day and wife Rachel, Griffin Day and wife Amanda, all of Longview, Hunter Day and wife Bee of Plano, and Tyler Day of Wylie.
